House Cleaning Tips
Here are a few home cleaning tasks many homeowners forget about.
Often, we forget to clean our lampshades until they are so bad it can no longer be ignored. These are so easy to clean, yet we wait until the dust is an inch thick. Just unplug the lamp, remove the shade, brush of the dust with a paint brush and use a lint roller to get the dust off a smooth shade.
Shower Curtain Liners
The shower curtain liner can become very nasty, if it’s not cleaned. They are not very expensive, so you may just want to replace the liner, but you can easily clean it, too. Just wash the liner in your washing machine with two bath towels. You may want to add a little baking soda or vinegar to ensure all the mildew is gone.
Make sure you don’t try to dry the liner in your dryer. Instead, hang it in a well ventilated area or outside to dry.
The Garbage Cans
Garbage cans may become very nasty if you don’t deep clean them, occasionally. Sure, you spray them down with a disinfectant, but this doesn’t clean them. Take the time to spray out the entire inside with disinfectant cleaner, let the cleaner sit for about 10 minutes, scrub the inside with a brush and rinse them out. You will also want to wipe down the outside and let the cans air dry.
There are many other home cleaning tasks you may have forgotten about, such as cleaning your light fixtures, gutters or even your windows. Make sure you create a list of everything needing to be done and how often it should be done. This will help to ensure you keep your home clean and happy without missing any important tasks.
