Whether living in a home, condo or apartment, people in the Las Vegas area know that July and August can be very rainy months from time to time. Sudden popup storms are common, especially near the Spring Mountains, and flash flooding is a constant danger in many parts of the valley. With the summer monsoons coming off the Gulf of California and making their way up into Arizona, many will drift over toward the Las Vegas area while essentially following the Colorado River basin through the mountain areas. That means lots of homes get pelted with rain even briefly but that will leave spots and stains for much longer if left unattended.
Windows Attract Water Stains and Dirt
When it rains hard in the Las Vegas area, many windows wind up saturated with dirt stains and water minerals when the moisture evaporates and leaves behind any minerals and residues. That means many windows, especially on lower levels, that are large and hung low can be saturated with spotty stains from water deposits and dirt down near the ground. Picture windows in particular are vulnerable due to their large area and generally low location along the fronts of homes. When the rain strikes the ground, the splashes will send minerals back up into the windows and need careful washing.
Wet Pets Make Windows Grimy
When a home has dogs that love to go outside and get wet and then come back in, there usually are a lot of spots that get left on the windows. Sliding glass doors are especially susceptible to pet noses, paws and wet fur coats brushing up against them and leaving spots and stains. Regular window cleaning and maintenance can overcome such issues and help to ensure homes and their windows are kept clean and clear of water stains, spots from pets and other imperfections that simply can be washed away.
Do your windows get dirtier during the summer rains coming in from Arizona?
