How to Amend the Rubber from Your Squeegee for Window Washing

May 17, 2022 by Cody Lewis Leave a Comment

Home improvement stores will at all times be more than willing to sell you window cleansing squeegys that are used by the professionals but more often than not they will by no means put in plain words how to alter out the old rubber from your used squeegys. It is notable for anyone who is going to acquire a squeegee to know how to change the rubbers otherwise you will throw away a lot of cash on buying new squeegees each occasion your old one wears out.

First off why should you adjust the rubbers? Well as you continue to clean windows the rubber will little by little wear down and obtain chips in it. These chips in the squeegee rubber will pass on onto the windowpane you are washing as a line. Obviously this is what you are trying to evade when you clean home windows so therefore older rubbers are a especially bad thing when it comes to cleansing house windows either professionally or else at home.

Fixing your Squeegee Rubber

So step one on changing the rubbers in your squeegee is to obtain a pair of good pliers and grasp one of the ends of the rubbers on the end of the squeegee. You will need to only grasp the squeegee rubber not the metallic or any other component of the actual squeegee.

Next you will need to yank on the squeegee rubber that will stretch out and pull out of the squeegee channel. You will as well notice there is a small steel clip on the rubber end that comes out with the rubber when you drag. That is intended to occur so don’t freak out and believe that you messed up your squeegee.

Third you will need to disconnect the metal clip that is attached to the rubber end and store it somewhere where you won’t misplace it. It is essential for the reason that you will have to to make use of it another time later.

Fourth you will want to repeat step 3 with the other side of the squeegee by grasping the other end of the squeegee rubber and pulling it out just similar to the earlier part. There will be a steel clip on this side as well which will pop out when you draw on the new side. No difficulty yet again just make sure you store this piece of metallic as well.

You will at this point be able to draw the squeegee rubber totally out of the guide and toss it away. Now you must just have the metal squeegy with no rubber in it and two steel clips. To replace the squeegee rubber you will in the beginning want to put the rubber in the guide without putting clips on each side.

Then you will need to wrench out the rubber on one area just far enough to position the metal clip back on the squeegee rubber. You will need to pinch the squeegee rubber in-between the clip and then compel it back into the guide. Now one section will contain a clip and the additional part will not. Last of all you will need to stretch the squeegee rubber out by pulling it out the additional part while putting the clip back on the other part. As a final point you will ram the clip and rubber from the other side back in so the squeegee is wholly put back together.

You are now finished exchanging the rubbers from your squeegee and are equipped to clean windows yet again with no streaks. This has been a complete tutorial on how to exchange your window cleansing squeegee rubbers.
